Terms of use.

HiddenGem is operated by HiddenGem Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. References to “HiddenGem”, “we”, “us”, or “our” throughout these terms refer to HiddenGem Ltd.

HiddenGem is a talent sourcing platform. It lets people build a profile that captures their work history, craft, projects, and portfolio, so the right people can find them through discovery and curated communities.

HiddenGem is built around a core commitment: talent is not a commodity. We don't sell access to your profile. We don't let anyone pay to rank higher. We don't train AI models on your work. See §05 for the full commitment.

HiddenGem is an independent project built and maintained by a small team. The service is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantees, and may change or evolve as we learn what people actually need.

• Age. You must be at least 18 years old to hold a HiddenGem account.
• Accuracy. Please provide accurate information when registering. You can use a public handle, but your email address must be real, and the work history you present must be honest.
• Security. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure. If you think your account has been compromised, tell us immediately.
• One person, one account. Accounts are personal. You can't sell, transfer, or share your account with anyone else.
• Deletion. You can delete your account at any time from your settings. We delete your data within 30 days, subject to the exceptions in our Privacy Policy.

Your profile content is yours. You retain full ownership of everything you create on HiddenGem, including your work history, descriptions, portfolio assets, and any text you write.

By posting content on HiddenGem, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the service, including showing your profile to others through discovery. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.

When you reference work from a previous employer (NDA permitting), you're responsible for ensuring you have the right to do so. HiddenGem is built for honest representation of your career, not for breaching agreements you signed.

Portfolio assets you upload (images, videos, links to externally hosted work) remain yours. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to show.

HiddenGem is a space for people building careers and finding the right collaborators or roles. By using community features (profile visibility, discovery, the Bug Page) you agree to:

• Be honest. The work you claim is the work you did. Inflating credits is a fast way to lose your account.
• Be human. No bots, automated scraping, or AI-generated profile content presented as your own work.
• Be professional. Conduct yourself the way you would in any workplace.
• Respect NDAs. Don't post anything from a project you've signed paperwork about not posting. We can't police every NDA, but we will act on credible reports.

The following are not permitted on HiddenGem under any circumstances:

• Illegal content. Anything that violates UK law or the laws of your jurisdiction.
• Hateful content. Content promoting hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
• Harassment. Targeted abuse, threats, or intimidation of any user.
• Fraudulent credits. Claiming work you didn't do, employers you didn't work for, or skills you don't have.
• Scraping. Automated extraction of profile data or any other content from the platform.
• Impersonation. Claiming to be another person or organisation.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination, without notice in serious cases.

The HiddenGem name, logo, design, code, and any original content we create are owned by HiddenGem Ltd and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from HiddenGem's design or interface without our written permission. Linking to HiddenGem is fine and encouraged.

HiddenGem is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't make any warranties about reliability, accuracy, or availability. We'll do our best to keep things running, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access, and during early access, expect occasional rough edges.

If we ever shut down HiddenGem entirely, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and offer a way for you to export your profile data.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HiddenGem Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of HiddenGem. This includes, but is not limited to, missed hiring opportunities, business losses, or reputational harm.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or £100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

You can stop using HiddenGem and delete your account at any time, no explanation needed.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. In serious cases (fraudulent credits, harassment, scraping at scale), we may act without warning. In less serious cases, we'll try to contact you first.

If your account is terminated due to a violation, you may not create a new account without our explicit permission.

When we make material changes (anything that affects your rights or obligations), we'll notify active users by email before the change takes effect. Minor updates will just show a new “last updated” date.

Continuing to use HiddenGem after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, you can close your account before it applies.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under the laws of your own country.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
